Catch the sunset at Saydit El Hosn from where you can see the entire north side of Lebanon, stretching from the Syrian coast to Chekka. You can also take a walk on the pass for a breathtaking view of the valley.

Gibran Khalil Gibran MUSEUM

The Gibran museum in Bsharri, North Lebanon, is maintained by the Lebanese Gibran Committee. It houses his original paintings and personal belongings contributed by his sister, Mary Haskell and Barbara Young following his death. The museum was an old monastery Gibran spoke of retiring in.

Al Midan is the place to be 24 hours a day. Take a stroll in the early morning and you can smell the Turkish coffee with cardamom. At noon have a leisurely lunch under the shade of the colored umbrellas. After a cup of tea, nibble on local sweets up at the pass. In the evening, the shisha smoke rises above the sound of merriment during dinner. Then, end the day with a sip of sahleb to warm you up.

Horesh Ehden nature Reserve

From Beirut take the highway north to Chikka, which is approximately 20km south of Tripoli. Upon reaching Chikka, take the highway east to Amioun. You will pass by the villages of Kousba (about 3-4km from Amioun) and then Tourza (15-20km from Kousba). It takes about 25 minutes (40-45km) to reach Ehden from Chikka. The reserve is approximately 5km from the village of Ehden.

The exceptional biodiversity of Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve is illustrated by: 3 of the 9 bio-geographic zones recognized in Lebanon are represented in Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve, thus contributing to its nationally important biodiversity. 1058 species of plants of which 39 species are trees, 26 species of mammals, 156 species of birds, 300 species of fungi and 23 amphibians.

Yousef Bek Karam (May 5, 1823-April 7, 1889), whose statue can be seen in front of the St. Georges church, was a Lebanese leader who led the nationalist effort against the Ottoman Empire. He was an early advocate of forming a united world assembly that would protect the rights of small nations. He was also a champion of human rights, justice and freedom. He fought against tyranny, human rights abuses and social discrimination.

Summer in Lebanon is always fun-filled thanks to the number of local festivals in towns and villages throughout the country. With the Ehdeniyat international Festival 2014, hundreds of people are expected to flock to Ehden to enjoy its lively atmosphere and talented performers. The festival is representative of both the traditional and modern cultures found in Ehden.

Hiking in the holy valley of Qannoubine

120 Km from Beirut, at an altitude of 910 m in the North of Lebanon, is the holy valley of “Qannoubine”, classified as world heritage because of its convents and caves made by monks who used to live there in ancient times. Our hike will start from the Maronite patriarch old residence down to the valley, passing by the most famous convents while enjoying the beautiful sightseeing this valley has to offer. This excursion will be lead by a professional trilingual guide. Duration is 4 to 5 hours.

The Kadisha Valley (also known as Qadisha Valley, Wadi Qadisha, Ouadi Qadisha, or وادي قاديشا in Arabic) is a valley that lies within the Becharre and Zgharta Districts of the North Governorate of Lebanon. The valley is a deep gorge carved by the Kadisha River, also known as the Nahr Abu Ali when it reaches Tripoli. Kadisha means "Holy" in Aramaic, and the valley, sometimes called the Holy Valley, has sheltered Christian monastic communities for many centuries.
